The Deck

The Deck Survey

Update:

Good Afternoon Mariners,

As many have heard, the Student Government Association has opened a fully functioning food and hygiene pantry on our campus called - "The Deck." From start to finish, we have been in the details of creating an environment for our Coastal Georgia students to come and grab any food or necessities that they may need to get through the week.

The Deck is still open! We want to continue to serve our fellow student body and pack bags based on your need, and leave them for pickup in the Campus Center to maintain social distancing.

All you have to do is fill out this survey: https://ccga.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bdubnfULvYi...

and we will pack a bag for you, let you know the contents before it's sealed, and update you when it is finished. We will work with you to get these items to you.

Each of you are in our thoughts, and we are diligent to continue to serve one another even when we are miles apart. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions at all, or if we as SGA can help this transition be any smoother.

As always, Hail the Sail!

Purpose:

The Deck opened up on November 20th at 10:30am. The Deck is the nickname SGA has chosen for our campus pantry. The purpose of our campus pantry is to support our peers with the necessities they need and to create community. It's a fully functioning food and clothing pantry to our campus.

Why:

After surveying, 66% of our student body has shown to have an inadequate amount of food per semester. Institutions like UGA, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw, and hundreds more have created a pantry; now its our turn. From start to finish we have been in the details of creating an environment for our College of Coastal Georgia students to come and grab any food they need to get through the week.

Motto:

"We Never Want Anyone To Have To Worry About Basic Necessities."
