TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS AFTER PROGRAM COMPLETION
(CAEP Standard 4, Component 4.2)
Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS) ratings are administered through the Georgia Department of Education to all teachers employed in Georgia public schools in the field in which they were prepared. For each candidate, the first available TAPS earned during the three academic years following program completion are reported. A teacher is scored from 0-3 on ten performance standards (3 being highest); these standard scores are added together for a sum score with a possible range of 0-30. The TAPS performance standard rating range is Level I to Level IV, with Level III being the expected rating for proficiency.
