Transfer Students: After Acceptance
Step One-Review Your Financial Aid Package
Financial aid does not transfer from one school to another. You must cancel aid at your current school and re-apply for aid at College of Coastal Georgia. You can check the status of your financial aid online through your My.CCGA Portal and COAST account.
- Complete the Federal Financial Aid Application: https://fafsa.ed.gov/
- College of Coastal Georgia School Code: 001558
For questions or concerns about your financial aid status, you may reach us via phone at 912.279.5722 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. For Veteran’s Affairs concerns or questions, email email@example.com. You are welcome to stop by our front desk in the Andrews Center or schedule an appointment with your financial aid or Veteran Affairs counselor.
Step Two-Sign Up for Orientation
Transfer students entering in the Fall 2019 semester will have the opportunity to attend the Transfer and Adult Learner Orientation in August. During orientation, you will learn about programs and services available to you, and have an opportunity to meet with faculty members in your field of study.
To sign up for orientation, visit your MY.CCGA Portal and login to complete the form. Your Login will be your nine-digit CCGA ID (920XXXXXX). If you are unsure of your ID number, please check your admission status and the number will be located at the top of the page. Find my CCGA ID
Step Three-Apply for Housing
Transfer students should apply for housing immediately after acceptance. Residence Life and Housing at College of Coastal Georgia consists of two housing options. Each of these living environments provides recreational lounges, study rooms, laundry, vending, and mailrooms. These options offer convenience in proximity, cost, and connection to campus.
Lakeside Village and Mariner Village provide the traditional college living experience for primarily our incoming freshmen. Located on campus, Lakeside Village and Mariner Village are your home away from home during your first year at CCGA.
Coastal Place Apartments, our newly acquired residence hall, offers a unique living experience as our off-campus residential apartments. Located only a 10 minute drive from main campus, Coastal Place Apartments is the housing option for our non-freshmen students. Coastal Place Apartments have kitchenettes and a full living and dining room areas. Get directions to the Coastal Place Apartments.
You can register for classes once your course credit evaluation is completed. You have the opportunity to be advised prior to orientation and receive an approved schedule that will provide you quicker access to registration at orientation. In some cases, your advisor can register you for critical courses that are needed for your degree program before attending orientation to ensure you will get the classes.
Contact one of the department coordinators or visit the Center for Academic Advising located on the first floor of Academic Commons South or call 912.279.5717 to get registered for classes.
