The College of Coastal Georgia's Center for Service-Learning is hosting an online Service-Learning Faculty Appreciation Recognition event starting November 16 to honor faculty members who have contributed to the service-learning program in 2020. The Service-Learning Faculty Appreciation webpage will be available to view online at https://libguides.ccga.edu/Service-Learning_Archive/FacultyRecognition. Here, viewers can learn about each honored faculty member through a short biography and special sentiment shared by a colleague. The honorees are recognized by "levels" based on how many service-learning courses a faculty member has taught.

The Georgia Power Foundation continued its support for higher education by presenting the College of Coastal Georgia with $10,000 towards the College's cyber defense program. The donation is being used to equip the Cyber Defense Classroom and Lab for student instruction.

Coastal Georgia Students to Help Create a Community Garden at St. Marys Elementary School

St. Marys Elementary School (SMES) will soon have a blooming garden, planted and designed by art students of the school, along with original works of poetry and artwork inspired by their garden, with the help of students from the College of Coastal Georgia. Coastal Georgia English lecturer Emily Boyles' English 1102 class is doing a service-learning project with art teacher Susan Grayson of St. Marys Elementary School to create a community garden.

College of Coastal Georgia fall 2020 graduates will have the opportunity to walk across the stage for graduation. The College will hold a modified in-person fall commencement ceremony on Sunday, December 13, starting at 1 p.m. at the Jekyll Island Convention Center.
